China orders investigation over Jeep Wrangler fire risk

Jeep Wrangler
According to Bloomberg, China has ordered Jeep to investigate the risk of fire in the Wrangler.

Previously, the Wrangler reportedly suffered from fire issues in both the US and China, and the problem was linked to automatic transmission fluid leaks, but there were no recalls. The article does not mention the cause of the fires this time around and Jeep has not made any statements on the matter yet. The official notice, which is in Chinese, can be found here.

Jeep, which is owned by Chrysler Group, is currently under the process of being taken over completely by Fiat this month. The takeover is said to be completed by January 20, 2014.
