Ford F-150 SFE to become regular cast member

In 2008, coinciding with the launch of the all-new F-150 as well as the highest gas prices in U.S. history, Ford was offering a more fuel-efficient version of the F-150 pickup for the 2009 model year. The optional SFE (Superior Fuel Economy) package featured minor fuel-saving modifications, two-wheel-drive and a three-valve 4.6L V8 engine. The model is now being discontinued, but also lives on.
PickupTrucks.com [1] reports that Ford will drop the specific SFE model for 2010, but Ford will continue to offer a two-wheel-drive, four-door version of the F-150 with built-in SFE features to garner the SFE’s 15/21 mpg rating. So in essence, only the sticker on the quarter-panel is being deleted.
